01The Problem

Growth creates complexity.

What worked when the organization was smaller often stops working as the business grows. Strategy becomes disconnected from execution. Processes live in people's heads. Teams develop workarounds.

Leadership spends too much time solving problems the organization should already know how to solve.

The work is to find what is producing the friction, then build the structure that removes it.

03The Smith and Sewell Method

Strategy is only valuable when the organization can execute it.

Every engagement moves through the same five stages, scoped to the size of the problem.

  1. 01

    Clarity

Understand what is actually happening inside the organization.

  2. 02

    Strategy

Define direction, priorities, and the decisions that follow.

  3. 03

    Systems

Design the processes, structure, and tools that carry the work.

  4. 04

    Execution

Install ownership, cadence, and reporting so the plan moves.

  5. 05

    Scale

Operate with infrastructure that holds as the organization grows.

04Operations Assessment

Not sure what's actually slowing the organization down? Start here.

The Smith and Sewell Operations Assessment is a structured review of your current operating environment. It identifies where friction exists, why it persists, and what to address first — delivered as prioritized recommendations, not observations.

What we evaluate

  • Strategy alignment
  • Organizational structure
  • Roles and accountability
  • Processes

  • Systems and technology

05Why Smith and Sewell

Advisory built for organizations that need the work to actually change.

Strategy + Execution

Recommendations are designed with implementation in mind. A plan that cannot be executed is not a plan.

Operator Perspective

Smith and Sewell understands organizations from inside the work — not only from a presentation deck.

Systems Thinking

We look beyond isolated problems to the structures and dependencies producing them.

Practical Solutions

Solutions are built around how the organization actually operates, its capacity, and its people.

Executive-Level Clarity

Complex information is translated into clear priorities, decisions, and next actions.

Built by an operator. Led by a strategist.

Tori DorseyFounder & Principal Consultant

Tori Dorsey is a strategist and operator whose work spans strategy, operations, program leadership, project management, organizational infrastructure, systems implementation, and executive leadership — across corporate, nonprofit, entrepreneurial, and community-based organizations.

Her strength is entering complicated or underperforming environments, quickly understanding how people, process, technology, and priorities connect, identifying what is holding progress back, and designing the structure an organization needs to move.

That work has included recovering high-priority initiatives, building operational infrastructure, implementing systems and workflows, leading cross-functional programs, and advising leaders through periods of growth and organizational complexity.
